FACIAL AESTHETICS

Botulinum toxin

For anti-wrinkle injections, Porthcawl Dental Care offers botulinum toxin treatments, the active ingredient in Botox. Injected into specific facial areas, it temporarily relaxes muscles to smooth deep lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. Safe and scientifically backed, results can last up to six months, with repeated treatments preventing future wrinkles.

FACIAL AESTHETICS

Dermal fillers

As we age, our skin loses its plumpness due to decreased collagen production. Dermal fillers at Porthcawl Dental Care restore this volume, mimicking hyaluronic acid to boost collagen and rejuvenate the skin. Our skilled team expertly enhances facial features by plumping lips and cheeks, smoothing deep lines, and sculpting facial contours.

FAQs

Botulinum Toxin

Will it hurt?

Administration of botulinum toxin causes minimal discomfort, so no anaesthetic is required!

How long will it last?

If it’s your first experience having anti-wrinkle treatment, we recommend top-up treatments every three-to-four months. Over time, this interval period can often be extended, as the muscles causing the wrinkles become weaker.

How much does it cost?

Botulinum toxin is usually administered by area – so while treating an area such as crow’s feet might cost £150, treating both the forehead and brow (two areas) would cost £250. Botulinum toxin can also be used in combination with dermal fillers. We’ll explain the costs fully with you before you undergo treatment and draw up a tailored treatment plan with a full breakdown of prices during your consultation.

How long is the recovery time?

You will be fine to return to work after treatment – we often see patients on their lunch break!

Dermal Filler

Will it hurt?

We provide numbing cream to alleviate any minor discomfort for all our dermal filler treatments. Additionally, we advise having local anaesthetic for lip procedures, as this makes the lips completely numb and no pain can be felt during the procedure.

How long will it last?

Dermal fillers typically last 9-12 months and resorb over time. The rate at which this happens can vary between patients.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the quantity of dermal fillers required – this can vary a lot between patients and sometimes a course of treatment will be necessary to achieve the results you want. During your consultation at Porthcawl Dental, we’ll explain the options and draw up a tailored treatment plan with a full breakdown of prices.

How long is the recovery time?

Most of our patients return to work the following day after their dermal filler treatment. Occasionally the treated area can look red and slightly swollen, and some patients experience bruising, although this will vary depending on the individual and the procedure. Any mild bruising can be effectively be covered with makeup if required.
