Dr Nagrani conducts both extra-oral and intra-oral examinations to assess facial proportions, jaw alignment, and dental occlusion. This comprehensive evaluation allows her to identify any underlying issues and determine the most effective treatment approach.

Dr. Caryl Wilson-Nagrani, a specialist consultant orthodontist, provides expert care for children and adults using fixed appliances and aligners. After earning her BDS from Sheffield University in 2005, she trained across dental specialties before completing her orthodontic training at Cardiff University, winning the William Houston Gold Medal. She later pursued consultant training, a PhD in lip morphology, and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority. As a Senior Clinical Lecturer, she managed complex cases, led orthodontic education, and won the Houston Research Prize. Now practicing across South Wales, she offers high-quality private orthodontic care, specializing in routine and complex cases with a patient-centered approach.
Dr. Frances Evelegh is one of our skilled General & Cosmetic Dentists at Porthcawl Dental Care. She earned her BDS from Peninsula Dental School in 2020 and has been practicing in South Wales ever since. Dr. Frances provides routine Invisalign treatment for adults and collaborates closely with Dr. Caryl, who specializes in more complex orthodontic cases. Together, they guide patients through their treatment journey—aligning teeth and enhancing smiles with restorative treatments such as tooth whitening and composite bonding.
Invisalign
Invisalign treatment uses a series of custom-made, clear aligners to discreetly straighten your teeth. The Invisalign aligners are designed to fit comfortably over your teeth and are worn for most of the day (22 hours daily), removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing your teeth.
The duration of the treatment varies depending on the individual’s case and can vary from 4-6months for simple alignment to around 12 to 18 months for more complex bite issues. It is effective for a wide range of alignment issues, including overcrowding gaps, crooked teeth, and various bite problems.
Fixed braces
Fixed braces are a powerful solution for correcting complex orthodontic issues such as severe misalignment, overcrowding, and various bite problems. They are permanently bonded to the teeth, applying continuous pressure for predictable results and minimal patient effort.
Unlike removable aligners, fixed braces don’t rely on patient compliance, making them a convenient choice for anyone, especially those who may forget to wear removable devices. Suitable for all ages, fixed braces provide precise control over tooth movement and require only routine check-ups to monitor and adjust treatment progress.
